$1.00 Decorating, never looked so nice !

With every ones budgets so tight this year, I decided to see if  it was possible to go to the Dollar General store,With $25.00 and find enough things to decorate a 5 1/2 foot tree. A BEAUTIFUL TREE MIND YOU ! Not knowing what I would find. And knowing me , I didn't want to just use the ready made decorations.   So, here is what I bought at the store . oh, by the way I think I went over budget by .68 cents!             This is a pic of what I had at home that inspired the color theme.       Sharing 36 photo's  total.

Receipt was for $25.68 shown at end.

Up close of what we bought. The throw was $5.00/ used to cover the backs of pillows. We also bought a bag of Slinky's,2 bags hearts,2 package bracelets,2 bags bling rings,2 bags mini star wands,2 package necklaces,4 different ribbons . Below  also rapping paper already had to go with the theme.

Above right-I put the tree into a vase,on our counter. The colors bought at the store, where , Almost neon -pastels,pink,green,purple,yellow,blue,orange. That's why I choose the color of the vase. Now I'll also share the rest of the rooms .
Most of the house is done in Black/white and silver. So I knew I had to blend the pastels with the glam of the silver/black and white.
So, I just spread little bits of the greens, blues, orange around. Just enough for the eye to tell the mind, it works.
 These rooms adjoin each other.
Now, this is art that hangs on our wall , but It didn't go very well ,with every thing going on. So I drew the bulbs, colored them lightly with colored pencil's, then took a glue stick and just did a scribble continuous line and dusted with glitter. Now my paper was shorter than the frame so I finished it off with black wrapping paper and joined the two with a piece of glitter ribbon. I did two of these ,the other one is a tree with bulbs,
Tied bulbs on curtain rods with black ribbon over top of a black curtain drape of x-ray tree's of black, white, silver, found this fabric at ghoul's.
Spread some more black and silver around.
Don't be afraid of mixing poka-dots and plaids and trees and what ever you have.
 Add some more color.

The tree .... TURNED OUT BEAUTIFULLY.

 see below
Add your packages.

The black, white ,silver, went very well with the other colors. more pic's below

 Soooo pretty !
 up close.

It's hard to believe this tree was done with $1.00 items, cause it looks like a million. see other pic's below.
I added a few bulbs we already had.

 Love these colors.
so festive.

Always add a bit of unexpected.
Shelves.
Little dab of color.
so simple.
Looks just a nice as any other tree , for much much less.
The cards where part of my inspiration.
Beyond the tree.
Beyond
A dab of color in the back ground helps to join the colors.
Even up close it still holds it beauty.
Black,orange,silver ,white and yellow.
I want to wish everyone reading this blog, Happy Holidays ! And I will be getting back with everyone soon.   BE SAFE.              May we all find just what we need, under our Trees.      Till then.......

A tree that sparkles with out lights-you won't beleave what it's made of.

This is a home- made tree ,it didn't take long to make and it wasn't very difficult. The surprising thing about this tree other than the fact that it has costume jewelry all over it , is the fact that it's made from chicken wire . Take a look at how it sparkles with out lights , and I'll tell you some more.

We took chicken wire and formed the frame.  Solder costume jewelery onto the chicken wire frame. then strung light green and silver garland from top to bottom inside ,added tree topper. See more pic,s below. Next, Blog, I do a tree with $1.00 items.  Show receipt ,and inspiration. For those of us on a budget, but wanting to change it up a bit. Come see  !  It's really quiet beautiful !

Headboard to double duty desk and storage.

Here is the Headboard to double duty desk and storage project, as promised . OK, so,These are the kind of bed room furniture you see that covers the entire one wall in a bed room. They come with the 2 large matching end cabinets , an overhead arch with lights and 2 large sheet mirrors. The mirrors and arch may be used another day, for something. We payed $75.00 for every thing. People are almost giving these away because of there size.
We simply built 3, 2x4 squares , inserted them up under the headboard, for strength and legs . Then we covered them with veneer wood panels and stained to match. Creating a space for our feet and plugs to be hidden ,the power strip can be mounted up under ,out of the way. We use wire less keyboards and mouses. But I did show (on the left) desk space, one of two ways ,you can use wired. They can come out the front, as shown, or you may choose to drill a hole. See more, below...
You just pull down the door, lift out your key board and mouse and instant office. More below....

And there is a bonus. A trap door where you can store all your extra reams of paper and and other stuff. This holds a lot of paper reams. Scroll down...more pic's.

You are sharing a desk/ but not mixing your work on some one else's space. And this desk only comes out 1 1/2 feet from the wall when not open and 2 feet when open.    Scroll down, 4 more pic's and text.....
Now just look at all the storage in the cabinet above !  This is what I refer to as my office supply storage cabinet. This baby holds a ton ! And you get 2 of these . I use the other one for all my kitchen items, I only use for special occasions. Out of sight, no clutter ! So, the next time you see one of these set's for sale or free for, hauling away....
