Granolla bars and Cinnimon rolls

Easy to make, I used trail mix and cereal , peanut butter and honey.  The cinnamon rolls were no kneed artisan bread with Steve. they were both good.

Pickled Jalapenos

I love Pickled Jalapenos ! I've been pickling all I can.. Sooooo easy.

WE GOT EGGS.....

We finally have egg production ! We butchered the other roosters. and that calmed things down  "a lot" in the chicken yard.  One month over due but we got it....They started out (1st day )2 smaller than small and one double yolk. Now we are averaging 4-5 eggs per day, and generally by noon. And that is plenty enough for us and then some. We keep 9 hens and 3 roosters . We will see how that works out. I'm gonna go boil some eggs!!!!!!!!!!

Learning Pressure Canning

My oldest son Rock gave me a pressure canner he had. Now this thing was a monster in size and needed some tinder loving care.

A good scrubbing and some replacement parts. But I knew if I bought one this size it would cost me $250 0r more- 21 1/2 quarts/ All American.
The gauge was cracked so I ordered a new one $15.99 and it still had the flip-up steam release/ I opted for the weighted release and ordered the valve ( It had a weight)$7.99,  $32.00 & 3 days latter. I was cookin !!!!
I have been trying every recipe I can get my hands on........I called the Company and ordered my parts . They told me my canner was over 40 years old ! And if it can hold a presser it's usable. And that most All American canners are past down from generation to generation " we just goin the opposite direction "
Hey ! Don't laugh !    IT'S KINDA COOL.   I bought a BIG country ham and used it to can with.. HAM&BEANS , HAM&POTATOES, HAM & GREEN BEANS, GREENBEANS,TATORS & HAM. THESE ARE SOME GOOOOOOD BEANS- and it's easier than cooking a pot of beans AND you can have beans soup NOW! or anytime you want. The beans cook right in the jar ! I will be canning much more.........                                                                                 Thanks Rock.

Sunday Dinner at our house...

Our back yard chickens provide wonderfully for us as you can see. Waiting on the rub.
Hope we didn't RUB them the wrong way !
The breads ,Some like it hot, some don't. Homemade Jalapeno cheese  and French.

Come on !                         Help yourself!!!!

Eating out in Columbus Ohio

We where celebrating Ethan's 1st job and our other son Jessie suggested  we try MELT. They tried Melt in Cleveland, Ohio . So, we thought ,why not. However, Eating out in Columbus, Ohio we Seamed to have bit off much more than we could chew (pun intended) . Just look at the size of my sandwich ! It had 1,2,3, yes-3 kinds of pork, deep fried dill pickles on it ,and cheese. And I don't know what else. This sandwich was called the Cuban War Pig. Chuck ordered the meat loaf ( it came on a bread like mine, only taller, I do be leave ! And Ethan ordered the Fish and Chips . YES, It also came the same way.
This is a BAR  & GRILL, just so you know up front. The décor is VERY INTERESTING....Lets just say everyday is a holiday .....OH and the FRY'S...........I ate those and took my sandwich home. Would have been a shame to let them get cold, they were so so good and there where so many !!!!!!!I'D GO BACK FOR THE FRY'S ALONE , BUT YOU SHOULD TRY IT ALL........T
