CHRISTMAS TREE AND DECORATING.

It's been a rough December. We had 4  members of our family leave us to be with the Lord.. And there for I have not been able to take the time to blog.        How ever, The Holiday has continued to sneak up on me.  And so, I'll  tell you, Our decorating this year was a hurried. I decided to keep it simple and clean . Than I thought, it would be nice to remember our loved ones and include them in our holiday decorating.  I started with the black Christmas tree. Added Clear lights and, I wired the tree to a metal plant stand my husband had picked up on his way home one night.
We'll call it an antique white ( free is always best ). I made WINGS( out of Styrofoam plates)and put the names of all our loved ones lost. Added Silver Bells and Instead of just hanging bulbs on the tree ,I strung each bulb with black ribbon , all different lengths ( instead of hooks ) and hung them on the tree letting them LONG hang , some even way past the bottom of the tree. At the top , a single silver star with a ribbon ( also made out of Styrofoam plate )with the words ,  EVERY TIME A BELL RINGS...........
I love how this turned out !
 The Styrofoam wings.
Styrofoam ribbon glued to the stair.
throw in some white, silver and black here and there....
Some poinsettias and other white flowers.

Added black sheers  from dollar store and black and silver material atop sheers. Metal snow flakes, windows DONE !

My sister gave me these snow owls on a rock and I just love them. And I knew they were the perfect compliment to this raised tree setting.

This is a cup cake holder in front with silver bulbs instead of cake.

Draped some silver beads out of my vases and added the ponsettias and white sheer table runner.

SEE THE DOG ON THE DOG BED IN FRONT OF THE FIREPLACE ? That's  LUGNUT( our Chinese sharpie)

 OOPS ! I forgot the ladder !
The wreath is painted branches and pine cones with a foil paper and black ribbon bow.
This little lifeless tree is my orchid.
cute....the white frog is the door stop........ MARRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL............................

Lion King Baby Shower.

I had a cake to do for a baby shower this week. The Thyme was LION KING. I love the lion king.
Here is the cake I made . They loved it !

Still ,  they remained faithful to one another, and  stood stronger than ever, together !
Money being tight for all these reasons . Time, now so  precious.  They decided they wanted to just do it.

So, we decided to help them create there wedding .
With out the big wallet.

She wanted a CAMO WEDDING.
So, we did our best to give her what she wanted , with out spending the money they didn't have.

Baking soda and lemon juice. Just mix up a paste and brush on . leave 3or 4 min. each time (that's all I can stand) BUT , it will clean your teeth. Only use to whiten, then return back to regular tooth brushing. T

THE SUSTAINABLE KITCHEN .

We have been learning how to eliminate the need to depend on  our grocery store for the items we use by learning how to make as much as we can  ourselves. We started with the simple , small things, and  we will be sharing,  to help you and your kitchen also , become a SUSTAINABLE KITCHEN .    We are looking to get back to the basics, and rid ourselves of all the manufactured  unnecessary  processing and additives .  WAIT !      DON'T ROLL YOUR EYES !    THIS IS NOT HARD OR TIME CONSUMING.  Just relax !   The things we learned were shockingly easy.... For instance,

Did you know ?

If you buy reg. sugar and a jar of molasses,  you now have 3 kinds of sugar !
Yup! to get brown sugar and dark brown sugar , all you have to do is mix white sugar with the molasses. The more molasses the darker the sugar.   AND IT'S FRESH !   Any time you want it.   And you just cut out two items you now don't have to buy, and you don't have to pay for the processing and packaging any more.   SEE !        You just saved time, money and it is fresh and easy.

So many things we buy and don't think about.     I find it much easier on me and my pocket book, to think, can I make that ?         Here is another.

Did you know ?

Cream of tartar and baking soda = Baking Powder.
1/2 tsp cream of tartar. plus,1/2 tsp baking soda  will give you 1 teaspoon (tsp) baking powder.

We will be sharing as many as we can.         We hope you find it interesting. T

MEET BOOMER !

Meet Boomer !

Boomer is a New Zealand Giant. And he is a male. We will be breeding hem.
He is very tame and easy to handle ,but for the fact that he is soooo big. AND HES NOT DONE GROWING YET !  Just look at the size of those paws.  SO  SOFT.  We will be introducing you to the rabbits as we get them settled in.  T

It's rabbit season.

We have for some time been looking into raising rabbits for meat. I am happy to say WE MADE THE LEAP. We will be working with New Zealand Giants, California Giants, Flemish Giants. We will be sharing our experience with all of our readers as we learn. Pick them up tomorrow.      Cute fuzzy pic's coming soon ! T

Homemade .

This week I'd like to talk about how to get your dishes to sparkle after washing. This can be used in the sink or in the dish washer. SIMPLY ADD DISTILLED WHITE VENIGAR TO THE RINSE WATER. Dishes will come out squeaky clean and sparkle. And it helps deodorize the drain. T

Home Made ! House hold cleaner.

As promised , here is  another Home Made house hold recipe.
This is a general purpose cleaner. I use it to clean the shower, sinks, counters, faucets. What ever needs  cleaning. You just spray it on, wait a few minutes , and wipe off with damp cloth. Works very well on the everyday things we need to constantly be wiping down and cleaning. Here is the simple and easy recipe.

General purpose house hold spray cleaner.

                              1 cup water
                              1 cup white vinegar
                              1 cup dish soap,

Mix together in spray bottle. Spray on ,wait few minutes, wipe off with damp cloth. The soap cuts the grease and dirt, the vinegar makes it shine and the water raises it all up so the damp cloth can remove it.                 Hope you try it ! T
